Blogger Challenge #1

Many don't know this but, the way I manage to socialize in these woods is through the internet. You probably figured that. My new friends are great and we chatter about mommy life, family life, and just bring ourselves back down to earth. I have found a great group of women. We often challenge each other and we noticed a number of us often through the bussiness of raising children and life we have neglected our blogs. This is our first challenge:

The prompt: Why do you blog? What do you hope to get out of participating in this challenge?

I blog so that I can update our families on our life here in Sonora and of course so they could see the growth of our darling little Zophia. Needles to say motherhood has bee chaotic. I have found that I have been split in three ways now. Not only am I Melissa, I am now also Mitch's wife, Zophia's mommy, homemaker, organizer, student, and most of all me. It is far off from where I was just two years ago at this time. Single, career minded, enjoying my friends, planning my wedding. I must admit, I do love my life now. I feel that my sense of purpose has been met in some part. Yes, I am fulfilled by the role as wife and mother, however, there is a part of me that feels that I have more to offer society. Thus, University of Phoenix. I am a phoenix! I have decided to go back to school and finish where I left off prior to my grandpa's death. I am on the road to completeing my bachelor's degree in Human Services with hopes to make a dent in the community. Specifically for the developmentally disabled population, a community to which I feel a lot of compassion for advocating for. We shall see where my compassion leads, the direction may change.

I am taking part in this challenge to make better contributions to our family blog. Yes, I will continue with the cuteness of Z. I just hope to have more content on my thoughts and trials. Thank you if you've gotten this far.
